Rachel Canalichio

Rachel Canalichio has been the Manager of the Wilbur Harlan Greenhouse since 2016.  She has a B.S. from Clemson University, obtained her Certificate of Ornamental Horticulture from the University of Maryland's Institute of Applied Agriculture, and completed a Master's Degree in Plant Science and Pest Management at Virginia Tech where she did her thesis work on organic prevention of Acidovorax cirtulii (bacterial fruit blotch). She is also an adjunct professor at GWU. She teaches Plant Biology (BISC 2305) and  Biology of Horticulture (BISC 2224) - a hands-on class about plant cultivation that she designed in 2022.

Prior to joining the Biology Department, Rachel was a Greenhouse Technician with the Maryland Parks and Planning Commission. She specializes in ornamental plant production.
