2017 Pre-Earth Day Special Symposium: Biological Sciences on a Changing Planet

June 15, 2017

Earth Day panel

Panelists, from left to right:

Leah Potter (GW Hatchet), Lisa Palmer (SESYNC Senior Fellow), Adam Allington (American Public Media's Marketplace), and Peter Linquiti (GW's Trachtenberg School)

"From presenters, we learned about biodiversity, from cave dwelling crayfish to forest trees, and the response of species and ecosystems to environmental problems like climate change, habitat loss, and pollution. The panel hit upon the shifting roles of scientists and science communicators. The open discussion Q&A about media, politics, and fossil fuels was insightful on the role of the biological sciences in addressing pressing global problems. It was a fascinating day! " - Dr. Keryn Gedan

A special thanks to Dr. Gedan for all her hard work in planning the 2017 Pre-Earth Day Special Symposium: Biological Sciences on a Changing Planet.
